Well it seems that Activision is very pleased with the sales performance of the recent Crash & Spyro remakes. Enough to consider new content (&/or games) for both franchises.
Citing that the response from players has been “fantastic”. And that both series had a “big impact on the bottom line.
And that the “reaffirming nature of these franchises” would go “beyond remasters” & “a lot of opportunity to innovate and think about totally new content within these IP’s”.
So from what I got from all this, is that Activision is ready to push these 2-franchises forward with entirely brand new content. No more remasters for these two. Which we can now basically throw out my recent article asking if Twinsanity remade should or shouldn’t happen.
Activision also said to “stay tuned for future announcements on remasters of other franchises”. Now what franchises these could be, I’m not sure. But they’ll most definitely get the Crash & Spyro treatment.
Gamescom 2019 is also coming up in less than 2-weeks, where Activision has announcements set for opening night. Could these new remastered series or even a new Crash or Spyro game be revealed there? We’ll have to wait & see.
