The above video gives a much more in-depth analyses on the current screenshots & info.
Spongebob fans celebrate, as the time has come. A fan favorite (mine too) Spongebob Squarepants game is coming to current gen consoles with today’s graphical standards. It’s Not a sequel or an HD port, it’s a remake similar to that of Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy & MediEvil.
The original developers, Heavy Iron, are Not developing the remake. Instead developed by Austria based, Purple Lamp Studios. Here’s the reveal description:
“Are you ready, kids? The cult classic is back, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendor! Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and show the evil Plankton that crime pays even less than Mr. Krabs. Want to save Bikini Bottom from lots of rampant robots? Of course you do! Want to underpants bungee jump? Why wouldn’t you! Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode? The battle is on!”
Notice they mention a “new multiplayer mode”. As someone who has played the original Battle for Bikini Bottom, there is No multiplayer mode. So this is new. But how would that work? Co-op story mode? Multiplayer minigames?
The Tweet by THQNordic seems to be hinting at gameplay or another trailer at E3 2019. Which begins next week. And I absolutely cannot wait to revisit this game, fully remade! I’m Ready!
The 2-revealed images seen to confirm different sky settings. Either it automatically shifts or they were changed so all the levels skyboxes wouldn’t look so similar.
Spongebob Squarepants Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated currently doesn’t have a release date. But will be released for all systems; PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch & PC.
