Well, I guess we all now know why Sly Cooper was removed from PGS Entertainment’s Website.
I linked the original article in the above Tweet, so you can read it in it’s entirety. So basically Sony is launching Playstation Productions, which would be similar to Activision/Blizzard Studios in terms of adapting games to TV & Film. For Sony it can be assumed each title will be a Playstation Original.
So where does this leave the Sly Cooper TV Show? Well after hearing this, it makes sense why PGS Entertainment removed Sly from their website early this month. As it’s possible PGS is no longer the distributor for the show, instead that role being shifted to Playstation Productions.
But it’s likely to still be produced by Technicolor Animation Productions. Hopefully we’ll get an update on Sly Cooper soon enough.
Now I’m wondering what other PS IP’s they plan to adapt too. Ratchet & Clank? Jak & Daxter? There was that planned Uncharted film as well. Who knows.
So what do you guys think about this? Please be sure to let me know in the comments below.
