Okay guys it is officially happening, Spyro The Dragon is back. It’s not like Spyro was gone to begin with, I mean we still had him in Skylanders Academy for the past two seasons. Anyways, the trilogy has been confirmed by a few international Amazon sites. It’s titled Spyro Reignited Trilogy, that actually sounds a lot better than Treasure or Enchanted. May I say it looks fantastic, I never thought I would get to see Spyro like this. Now since I didn’t get to do a post yesterday, to cover eggs eight through ten and the Falcon McBob unlocked Twitter account with a teaser featuring the Crash Bandicoot suit from the commercials. I decided to do it today and I’ll get to Spider-Man PS4 after I finish up Spyro. Here is the official trailer.
Spyro The Dragon makes his triumphant return in remastered versions of the first three games. Spongebob Squarepants voice actor, Tom Kenny, returns to voice Spyro from Spyro 2 and Spyro Year of the Dragon to voice Spyro in all three original games. Toys For Bob has also been in touch with Insomniac Games to ensure it stays true to Spyro. Insomniac Games isn’t really involved as all their attention is focused on Spider-Man PS4 (I’ll get to that soon enough). Spyro Reignited Trilogy is releasing on PS4 and Xbox One on September 21st, no word on PC or Switch versions at this time. But this is the most amazing transformation I’ve seen in a game, far exceeding that of Crash or possibly even Ratchet & Clank PS4. Now in the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy under Crash 3 Warped menu, inputting the Spyro demo code allows North American owners to view the Spyro Reignited Trilogy trailer.
The official Spyro The Dragon Website and YouTube channel are now online. So be sure to check them out, there are so many details on how the developers tried to keep everything as close as possible to the originals. I’m impressed and really want to see more. In my opinion this looks better than the Crash Bandicoot trilogy. Now some of what is shown seems to feature some inspiration and expression from Skylanders. Now as with the PS4 version of Crash, the PS4 version of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will probably contain references to Insomniac Games. Some have already been pointed out like the similarity to the Ratchet & Clank PS4 trailer where Ratchet and Spyro are running in a similar fashion in both trailers with the levels changing and the sheep could also be another reference. Also over on Twitter, there is a claim that the trilogy uses Unreal Engine 4, if it’s true that’d be interesting if it’s not the same engine used in the Crash N-Sane Trilogy. Now it may be coming to PS4 and Xbox One, but Nintendo UK listed the Switch version before quickly taking it down, possibly being revealed to soon before the next Nintendo Direct, which my guess the next one should happen within the week.
Finally onto, what is perhaps another milestone in video gaming history. From the developers of the original Spyro Trilogy and the Ratchet & Clank series, comes Spider-Man PS4. Insomniac Games plans to release this game on September 7th, 2018, with some pre-order bonuses including, new Spider-Man suits, gadgets, new story-chapters and more. This Spider-Man game truly delivers the movie experience at your fingertips, every second of the game from the combat and stealth, to cinematic cutscenes and QTE’s to the web-swinging and everything in between feels exactly like the movie, but like 10x better. Spider-Man PS4 looks and feels like the first true game in the series since the PS2 era with Spider-Man 2.
