Sonic Boom Season 2 reaches it’s half-way point this Saturday, May 6th and to finish the first half and start the second half is the series first four-parter episode titled Robots From The Sky. The air dates on Boomerang at 6:00 PM, for all four parts are; Saturday May 6th, Saturday May 13th, Saturday May 20th and Saturday May 27th. Then on June 3rd Flea-ing from Trouble will air on Boomerang at 6:00 PM. The 4-part Robots From The Sky episodes introduces 2 new characters Mighton and Bolt, 2 robots from a city in the clouds. According to the season 2 poster, the four part episodes will bring back characters, robots and vehicles from the first half of the season.
A new poster for the second season, which seems to focus on the four part saga, was released by series executive producer, Bill Freiberger on Twitter earlier this week. According to TSSZ News and Sonic Stadium (links at bottom under gallery), who Cartoon Network and Sega allowed to preview and release four new screenshots. Both gave all four parts a very good review, even saying these were so far the best episodes of both the series and season two. Characters like Friendbot (Fiendbot formerly), Frogladyte Og and the Cubot Prototypes return from previous episodes. Also the Blue Force One and Sonic’s Mech Suit return for the “Robots From The Sky” Quadrilogy. Shadow, Metal Sonic or other returning characters from the Modern Sonic series of games could appear in this saga of episodes. Even if they don’t they will appear in later episodes of the second season. With Robots From The Sky Part 2, airing on May 13th Sonic Boom will have aired 79 episodes, outnumbering the number of Sonic X episodes, Sonic X aired only 78 episodes.
